Artist Carrie Wild tells us about her paintings. Admission to this program is free.
A love of the outdoors, as well as story and myth, inspire her artwork: detailed paintings in which she depicts nature in both realistic and imaginary ways.
An Indianapolis resident for over twenty-five years, Carrie works as both a fine artist and illustrator. She is also a juried member of Indiana Artisan, Indiana Artists (IN/A) and Art IN Hand Gallery. Her available works include original paintings, giclée reproductions and both handmade and licensed greeting cards.
Carrie’s paintings begin with a pencil drawing that’s transferred to watercolor paper. The drawing is shaded with permanent ink by stippling, and then watercolor is added for color, depth and to define details. She enjoys studying art history and design, and elements from various artistic movements, as well as other cultures, sometimes appear in her work.
