Announcements

In 2020 we proudly present the 27th year of the museum and the sixth year of the Celebrations of Creativity and Craftsmanship series.

Our audiences enjoy demonstrations and performances of creativity and craftsmanship by flutists, guitarists, dulcimer players, singers, poets, jewelry makers, ceramicists, woodworkers, and painters to name a few.

When guests come to enjoy a session, they easily see that scale miniatures are all about creativity and craftsmanship, just as in any art form. Actually miniatures in our collection comprise nearly every art form.

During the sessions, the artists show their work or perform, and talk about how they got involved in art, what their sources of inspiration are, and their technique. Frequently artisans and artists do onsite demonstrations, from painting a landscape to carving a tiny vase out of a tagua nut on a small lathe.

Sessions take place on every second and fourth Wednesday at 111 E. Main Street, Carmel. Starting time is noon so that our visitors can spend their lunch hour with us. Programs usually run between 45-60 minutes.

Admission to the Celebrations program is free.
