Laverne Sullivan Exhibit
Now on Display – The Collection of LaVerne Sullivan, “The Mouse Lady”
Come see the wonderful stories and hijinks of LaVerne Sullivan, the Mouse Lady! This Artist Feature is now open, including seven rooms from the Kansas City artist new to the Museum of Miniature Houses.
LaVerne Sullivan, a highly respected American miniaturist, started making miniatures in her home in Kansas City in the mid-1960s. Her miniatures depict specific historical periods or cultural settings, and they are known for their accuracy, detail, and their ability to tell stories. She would also include a small mouse in every miniature room she created, thus the moniker “The Mouse Lady!”
LaVerne’s daughter, Lisa Sullivan, continues her mother’s legacy by sharing her work and its history. Without her, this collection would not have come to the Museum of Miniature Houses. The Museum extends its appreciation to Lisa and Kansas City’s National Museum of Toys and Miniatures.
See this exhibit in Room 1 through May 31, 2026.
