Important updates
Aug, 24 2020

Beginning Friday August 28, the museum will be open to visitors three days a week: Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Hours are Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The shop will be open as well during those hours.  There is no charge just to shop.

The museum proudly announces that we offer a new and updated audio tour free of charge, thanks to a support grant from the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation.

Three new exhibits are on display as well. The first is entitled The Smallest of the Small.   The second showcases the work of Nancy Summers.  The third is a display of paper dragons.

The Smallest of the Small is on display in room one.  Here there are miniatures made on scales much smaller than the usual one inch to one foot.  We have half inch, quarter inch and 1/144th inch examples from furniture to houses. Shown here is a quarter-inch scale painting by Anna Krout.

In room four is a cabinet full of work by artisan Nancy Summers.  Although she has tended to specialize in upholstered seating in recent years, this exhibit shows that Nancy is proficient in all kinds of items, such as a sink with vanity as shown here.

In room three is a fantastic display of elaborate paper dragons, most of them from pop-up books.  We show a variety of creatures from Puff the Magic Dragon to Amphiptere to Terrible Serpents of the West (shown here).

All are invited to enjoy our extensive Virtual Gallery, which we post on our Facebook page at least twice a week.   These same items can be seen on our web site under Permanent Exhibits.
