New Finds from Chicago

Shop Manager Kathy Birk recently visited the Tom Bishop Chicago International Miniatures Show and returned with some truly special pieces for the museum shop. One highlight is a beautifully detailed pastry shelf. Kathy purchased it from a friendly Italian vendor, despite the language barrier. They connected through hand gestures and smiles to complete the transaction.

She also picked up two lovely upholstered couch and chair sets that are sure to charm any miniature enthusiast.

Come take a look–you won’t want to miss these new arrivals!

Cordless Miniature Lamps

The Museum is excited to be offering new cordless miniature lamps in our Museum Shop. Designed by Carl R. Sahlberg, Miniaturist-at-Large, these new lamps do not require wiring and are turned on and off by simply tapping the base of the lamp with a small silver wand. Imagine placing these lamps anywhere in your miniature setting, moving them around freely, and turning them on and off independently. Be sure and take a look the next time you are in!

Carl R. Sahlberg of Creative Reproductions 2 Scale is a master electrician and has worked on innumerable miniature displays throughout the United States, including many at the Museum of Miniature Houses. For more information about Carl and his lighting designs, visit his website: www.CR2S.com.
