Teddy Bear Camp on Facebook
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) chose MMH as a location for its annual Teddy Bear Camp and featured the museum on its Facebook page in May 2025. The camp offers a unique opportunity for children aged 5-12 to travel virtually to historic sites. For the week of May 5-16, children sent their favorite stuffed animals to the camp, and their stuffies were photographed at each of the selected sites. DNR included the photo above in the digital album that the state agency compiled to send to each child. In addition to the photographs, DNR included information about each site the stuffed animals visited. The digital album provides a fun way for children to learn about history, architecture, and historical preservation.
